The Leicester based Reviews.io is now accepting applications to its newly launched ‘Girls in Tech’ internship program.
The startup, which was sold last year for more than $70m, has begun the initiative to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce, saying:
“There’s no denying it. The tech industry is a male dominated field. Yes, small steps are being taken, but the fact is there’s still a significant gender gap, with stats showing that women make up less than one third of the global workforce in technology related fields.
The level of gender inequality varies across disciplines, with far fewer women employed in engineering and architecture roles. Look at software development in particular, and you’ll find that currently, around just 17% of developers worldwide are female.”
The internship will be a two-week summer placement in Leicester beginning on Monday 26th June 2023 and will run until Friday 7th July.
The successful applicant will experience all aspects of the business and explore its products, working alongside wider teams including sales, marketing and customer support.
