Budding startups from Leicestershire’s three universities have won grant funding and a place on an accelerator programme to help turn their innovations into reality.
The Research England funded initiative VenureVersity began at the start of the year with three well attended mixer sessions hosted at De Montfort University, University of Leicester and Loughborough University.
This was then followed by 26 teams completing a pre-accelerator, which concluded with each founder pitching their business ideas.
This month twelve were selected by a panel to proceed to the next stage. They are:
- Building Resilience in Children (BRIC)
- EnHANCE: nonconventional System for Clean Indoor Environment
- EcoSENSE. Real-time monitoring of water systems
- An online assessment tool to audit educators’ awareness of dyscalculia
- Automating Individual Assessment Feedback (INDAF)
- Next generation carp care for angling and ornamental markets
- ValidateLabs: Validation data Processor
- e-Favor an AI powered water leakage detection and localisation solution
- LUCID: Concussion Identification
- Battery manufacturing: Laser Guided Disc Punch
- ProteoSwit Analytics: Fast-Tracking of Translational Protein Research
- Healthcare Team Observations for Patient Safety (HTOPS)
Details of the projects can be found at www.Ventureversity.org, and projects are still keen to talk with potential collaborators and supporters.
