A new startup which aims to help measure and increase staff learning and development (L&D) has been launched by a Leicester entrepreneur.
Dr Nicola Thomas says she’s excited to reveal ‘Disco Analytics’, an agency which will partner with enterprises to better understand their worker’s L&D.
The founder believes L&D is miles behind other business functions when it comes to analytics and insights and her startup hopes to change that.
Her website reads ‘Successfully training a person or team to do new stuff or old things in better, smarter, faster ways, creates added value but we need to measure these net gains’.
Nicola, a former Leicester Startups Accelerator participant, said on LinkedIn:
“Disco Analytics has been a long-time coming – perhaps even 25 years ago. Back in 1999, I embarked on a PhD research project to measure and evaluate the impact of an education project, and in particular, to investigate whether a suite of behaviours changed among its 33,000 audience.
“Since this insightful research, I’ve been involved in education and behavioural change interventions in one guise or another, but never in a formal L&D role!
“So, in my new role as Director of Disco Analytics, I’m hugely excited to connect, meet, work and collaborate with folk in the L&D world. So, if you’re already working in L&D, please do spread the word – thank you!”
