The winner of the Leicester Startups Accelerator in 2023 has been named one of Innovate UK’s most innovate women.

Katie Michaels, the founder of Moti Me, was selected as one Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation Award winners from almost 1,500 applicants.

Moti Me is an edtech startup which makes a physiotherapy device to help children with movement disabilities.

On winning the award, Katie said it was a dream come true:

“With over 1,450 applicants and a success rate of just 3%, I’m truly privileged to be part of this incredible cohort of women and the impactful work they are doing.

“The most special aspect of this award is that I’ll be committed to inspiring women and new innovators, offering them support as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

“On top of this, I have the opportunity to significantly accelerate the development and progress at Moti Me from mentoring support and grant funding provided within the award.”
