An exciting science and technology festival is being organised at the Morningside Arena on Thursday 24th October 2019. Leicester Employment Hub is collaborating with Maggie Philbin (ex – BBC science presenter) and her team at Teen Tech in organising an exciting interactive event, showcasing science and technology of the future.
30 local and national employers are being given the opportunity to inspire over 200 local pupils from years 8/9 by delivering interactive activities. The event is organised into zoned activities of 15 and 30 minutes, with groups of pupils getting hands on with new technologies and ideas. The range of employers already signed up to attend include Leicester University, DeMontfort University, Loughborough University, CITB, Leicester Space Centre, NHS, HS2, BBC and Leicester City Council.
Over 100 year 6 students will also get to present their project ideas of The City of Tomorrow, this follows on from curriculum activity being delivered in schools which aims to inspire creative ideas and to get pupils thinking ‘outside the box’ about the future
If you want to be a part of this event please get in touch, we have spaces available for you to show off your great ideas, they don’t have to include lots of whizzy kit, we just want people who are passionate about what they do.
