A Leicester startup is celebrating after winning two awards at the Growing Business Awards.
Care Hires, which connects care providers with carers to address the staffing crisis, took the titles of ‘Online Business of the Year’ and ‘The Bridges Positive Impact Award’.
Founder Suleman Sacranie said:
“Starting from a simple yet powerful idea with my co-founder Nizam Bata ACCA, we’ve navigated through the intricacies of the care sector, transforming challenges into innovative solutions. Every step of my entrepreneurial journey, including this one, has been supported by my brother, Yasin Sacranie whose unwavering faith and guidance are the cornerstone of everything I do.
“Our dedicated team, the true heroes behind this success, have been instrumental in every achievement. Their passion, commitment, and hard work have brought our shared vision to life.
The startup currently connects 13-thousand care workers to care providers.
According to the business, care homes are missing a third of the staff they need and more than one in four have closed their doors to new admissions in a deepening labour crisis.
The business received £2m investment in from West Hill Capital in 2022 and has seen support from Leicester based Mattioli Woods plc.
