A Market Harborough based startup which enables customers to buy and sell pre-owned clothes is close to closing its second crowdfunding target.
Thrift+ describes itself as a “managed marketplace for pre-loved fashion” and so far raised more than £850k from 150 investors. It’s target is £900,000.
The company, who’s mission is to end fashion waste, has nearly £3m in annual revenue and has sold one million items on its platform.
In 2023 the startup raised more than £1.9m on Seedrs. Founder Joe Metcalfe said that those funds helped upgrade tech, scale partnerships and launch a new brand.
“We’ve now helped to clear out 175,000 wardrobes, resold over 1 million items, and our sellers have raised over £2 million for charity.
“But we are still just getting started.
“There is so much more to do on our mission to end fashion waste.
“After cracking the economics of resale, we are ready to scale. So our focus is now on creating an exceptional experience for our sellers.”
